Arthur was 22 and Ruth was 19 when they were married; their loving marriage lasted for 66 years, until Ruth passed away in 2010. While still in dental school, Arthur visited Ruth's parents in South Florida when he decided that this is where he wanted to practice dentistry and raise his family. In 1951, Arthur moved to Miami and began his dental practice that lasted more than 50 years. Arthur and Ruth lived in Coral Gables for over 60 years. Arthur was active in many professional societies and civic affairs. He loved the arts, music, and was an excellent pianist. After taking many trips to the Far East, Arthur became a serious student of oriental religion, art, and philosophy. This interest developed into a secondary career as he became an adjunct professor of Far Eastern Studies at the University of Miami and other local academic institutions. He lectured for more than twenty years at medical societies, philosophical and mental health seminars, art societies, and numerous other organizations. He authored three books, one of them a best seller that unraveled complicated eastern-religion ideas into a western mentality. Arthur leaves behind nine grandchildren: Gina, Erik, Jeremy, Cody, Jody, Aaron, Gabe, Arielle and Darren, - and five great-grandchildren: Remy, Lyle, Anna, Theoria, and Oly.
